Meet Ed: A Lifetime of Diving Passion
Ed's love affair with the underwater world began in 1983 when he started his diving career as a contract commercial diver with Seafun Divers. He quickly discovered a passion for exploring the depths and sharing that passion with others.
A Diver with Diverse Expertise
Ed's diving journey has taken him from the research field with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) to owning and operating seafood harvest vessels. He became a certified diving instructor in 1985 and has been teaching ever since. His experience extends beyond recreational diving to encompass a wide range of commercial diving work.
A Commitment to Safety and Community
In the early 1990s, Ed's dedication to safety led him to join the Nanaimo Emergency Program. He served as a coxswain, participated in land search and rescue, and provided his expertise as a rescue diver.
Sundown Diving: A Dream Realized
Ed's dream of owning his own dive center became a reality in 1986 with the founding of Sundown Diving. He has been sharing his love for diving with countless students ever since, guiding them through their first underwater breaths and beyond.
A Global Perspective, a Local Focus
